We became a legal family on National Adoption Day 2007. Ellie wanted to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of her Adoption Day with "a cake and candles," and she helped me make this sour cream cake with orange frosting. (She also approved the use of the number 2 candle.) Annette was home sick from work today, so we celebrated this morning with the 3 of us and with 2 of Ellie's child care friends. She was very proud to be the center of attention and asked that we say, "Congratulations!" to her. In return, she told us, "Congratulations, Mama and MumMum. Happy Adoption Day!"
