Zoo Trip Number 2

Annette here again.
On Sunday after church, Ellie and I went to the Zoo at Forest Hills Park in Springfield.
Ellie had a wonderful time looking at all the animals.

These are little deer from Africa. The people next to Ellie shared their animal food with her so she could feed the deer too. The deer were wicked cute.

Ellie checks out the spider monkeys. I could not get a good picture of them unfortunately. I found it interesting that the mountain lions are placed between the two spider monkey exhibits and across the way from the little deer. One of the mountain lions watched the monkeys with great intensity while moving its tail back and forth.

Llama!

Camel!

Donkey!

Bunny and two babies.

"Look Mummum!"

The girl loves her goats.

Albino Peacock!

Right after this picture, I had to explain to Ellie how many animals at the zoo, although looking friendly, are not ones we can touch and pet. This lynx is a good example. It looks like a kitty but is not friendly like a kitty.

Ellie loved meeting this zoo keeper. She showed us the food she was bringing to the kangaroos (including one of Ellie's favorites, sweet potatoes). We watched her feed them and then clean up their pen.
