On Saturday we attended the Family Music Meltdown and Book Bash out in Northampton. The place was a madhouse, but Ellie liked the bouncy house, the gymnastics demonstration, and the squeezable yogurt.
Ellie brought Bubba to me on Tuesday morning and asked me to fix her up. Bubba's flannel had worn thin in several new places, as you can see.
Bubba's back was equally worn.
So, with Ellie's blessing, I made a "sleeping bag" for Bubba to rest inside. (Annette and I bought this flannel for Ellie before she was born, so it felt special enough to use for such an important project!) I sewed the bag around Bubba and held my breath that Ellie would accept Bubba in her new form.
Ellie checked out Bubba quite thoroughly. (I was still holding my breath.)
She examined Bubba from every angle.
Then, at last, she ran to the couch to try out her new Bubba. When she put her fingers in her mouth and held her new Bubba closely, I knew everything would be okay. A few minutes later, Ellie said, "Thank you for fixing Bubba. I like her."
