At the zoo with Auntie Jenny

Believe it or not, this is the only photo I have from our zoo trip on Saturday! Jenn has promised to send me more, so I'll post them when I can.

Reading one of Mama's alumnae publications

King cake!

So yes, we celebrated Mardi Gras on Ash Wednesday.

Twirling

Vanilla

A funny thing about Ellie is that she LOVES cooking spices and extracts--she always asks to smell them when we're cooking. Her special favorites are cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla (seen here).

Before, during, and after drinking her "coffee"

It's actually milk, of course. Also, please note the insane bedhead. That's all.

Just FYI

We haven't been updating Ellie's website as often as usual because all 3 of us have been sick. I'm recovering from pneumonia, Annette came down with asthmatic bronchitis, and Ellie's had ear infections plus cold after cold. In addition to that, I have a new baby at my work who needs lots of TLC! Things have been very hectic around here, but we hope to settle back into our routine soon.

"Eat at a restaurant!"

At our local science museum

Ellie checked out the turtle habitat....

Then she tried to find the boa constrictor's head (sorry, Grandma Hazel!).

She LOVED this lion; in fact, she liked all of the taxidermy.
[shudder]

Ellie liked these shark photos as well. Perhaps there's a shark dive in our future after all....

This exhibit was about wind and wind tunnels. Ellie liked throwing paper plates onto the fabric.

She liked hanging out in this cold tent. She also liked its companion hot tent.

When Ellie jumped on the bellows, she could blow air at the farm. She got a kick out of this exhibit.

She checked out more turtles here...

Then she watched clouds form in the cloud machine.

Alien Ellie

This scarlet macaw was Ellie's favorite! She loved that the bird repeats "hello" and "goodbye." She talks about this bird nonstop!

----------LOOK AWAY NOW, GRANDMA HAZEL!----------

And finally, Ellie took in the Live Animal Encounter. She even participated by answering some of the presenter's questions...it was SO cute! She was thrilled to see this albino cornsnake close-up.
